Rutherford was the home of Davy Crockett prior to his departure to Texas and his tragic death at the Alamo on March 6, 1836. Here you can visit the replica of his cabin (built with logs from the original cabin) and the grave of his mother, Rebecca Hawkins Crockett. Rutherford celebrates their famous frontiersman with a festival in early October each year with old-fashioned music, arts and crafts, costumes and a parade.

For more information on this event, please see the ACTIVITIES & EVENTS section. For more information on the Davy Crockett Cabin (hours of operation, history, events) visit the website at https://mississippiriver.natgeotourism.com/content/last-home-of-davy-crockett/msp3cbf1e99fa8839150
